Introduction
 

The goal of this one-day exam preparation course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to deploy and manage a Microsoft networking solution for small and medium-sized businesses followed by the exam on the same day. (Equivalent to 2395: Designing, Deploying and Managing a Network Solution for a Small and Medium-Sized Business).

The course is a one-day course which includes 6 hours of training followed by the exam. Exam number is 70-282: Planning, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for the Small and Medium-Sized Business.

This Exam Preparation course is not intended as complete training to pass the exam, rather it is a review or culmination of experiences that refine the students’ knowledge as final preparation to earn certification.

 
Prerequisites
 

This course requires that students meet the following prerequisites:

+ A minimum of one year experience working with Windows Server 2003 and Windows Small Business Server 2003.
+ Experience designing solutions for small and medium sized companies using Windows Server 2003 and Windows Small Business Server 2003.
+ Experience working with Internet Information Services (IIS).
+ Experience working with Exchange Server 2003.
+ Experience working with Windows SharePoint Services.
+ Experience working with Internet Security and Acceleration Server.
+ Working knowledge of Internet Information Services (IIS).

 
Course objectives
 

Students will gain the knowledge and confidence necessary to pass exam 70-282: Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for a Small- and Medium-Sized Business. This course is meant to help prepare students for exam 70-282 by performing a review of topics that will be covered on the exam.

 
Audience
 

A candidate for this course should have at least one year of experience designing, deploying, and managing network solutions in an environment with the following characteristics:

+ Up to 100 company network connections
+ Company networks with Internet connectivity
+ Individual users or user groups that connect to the company network from remote locations.
