TORQUE IT WINS TOP MICROSOFT AWARD

PRESS RELEASE
October 2009

Torque IT, a leading information and communication technologies (ICT) training solutions provider to blue chip companies throughout South Africa, has been awarded the esteemed Microsoft Learning Solutions Competency Award 2009.

Microsoft’s Sharon Oosterberg stated “Torque IT has been a model certified partner learning solutions (CPLS) and has cleverly stayed focused on their tradition way of doing business, whilst expanding to focus on new areas, ensuring stability and growth through challenging and adverse times in the market. Their commitment to driving training and specifically certification is admirable.”

On hearing of the award, an overjoyed Torque IT sales and marketing director, Tebogo Makgatho, said “Our recognition by Microsoft Learning proves that our approach to training and in particular to certification is the right formula.”

With the recent international launch of Windows 7, Makgatho says Torque IT is gearing up to add this training to its menu of courses on offer by October this year. “We are confident that we will be in the running to win the award once again in 2010” she adds.

Microsoft looks at criteria such as whether the training solutions company has gained new customers, the percentage growth year-on-year, the training to test ratio and training to certification ratio, the roll-out of campaigns utilising resources made available by Microsoft and customer satisfaction. Microsoft also takes into account the partner’s impact on previously disadvantaged communities through learnerships and internships such as Microsoft’s Student to Business programme and training geared towards NGO’s and community based organisations (CBO’s).

Torque IT also provides customised training to school leavers seeking skills in the ICT arena including the Master Network Engineer (MNE) programme.
